I’m convinced that if you are prone to anxiety, it’s likely you’ll experience it on some level for the rest of your life. REAL exciting, right? It’s a true thorn in the flesh. That’s the downside. BUT here’s the helpful part of anxiety: listen to your anxiety, and deeper healing is possible.
Underneath anxiety, there’s usually a lie you are believing about yourself or a situation; if you can uncover for yourself the lie you are believing, and get healing from that lie, not only will your anxiety decrease, but your confidence, and overall sense of well-being will increase.
It could be a lie of unworthiness/incompetence, of financial ruin, family dysfunction, physical harm to you or your family etc.... but the truth in all of it is this: YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL, YOU HAVE PURPOSE, YOU ARE WORTHY OF LOVE RIGHT WHERE YOU ARE, AND YOU CAN DO HARD THINGS.
Imagine your deepest fear coming true. Now imagine all the hard things you’ve already experienced in life and remember that YOU ARE STRONG even when you don’t feel like it. While life can be really hard sometimes, you’ve already been through the ringer and each time, you’ve managed to rise above. No future disaster will change that from being true. .
