Grateful smiles - for family, for a safe place to call home, for toiler paper, and for hikes like this 🌊🌴
I was listening to @npr which was hosting an episode of Hidden Brain (a great podcast btw and a favorite of mine!). They were interviewing an author about her book on the 1918 influenza outbreak and she was talking about the parallels it has to the COVID pandemic.
One topic they kept circling back to throughout the podcast was the impact of privilege. How privilege gives you a safe place to escape and "stay home", how privilege gives you money to have enough food and water to stock up, and how privilege gives you the ability to work from home and earn an income while hourly workers cannot. These are all things to be considered and definitely gave me some much needed perspective.
So even when you're bored out of your mind and staying home kinda stinks, be grateful for the privileges you do have. I know I sure am.
