Let me tell you guys a long story about a girl...
In 2011 she moved away from her little hometown to a place where she didn't know a single person. Leaving behind clients in a beautiful salon that she could have easily stayed at because it was comfortable and easy. She got a job at a salon that she knew wouldn't be where she stayed long term, but the sacrifice would lead her to meeting some amazing people and once in a lifetime opportunities. The day she walked in the door she had no clients on her books. She picked up baby sitting for local moms hoping they would refer friends or come in. And they did. Any opportunity to network, she took it. Working 7 days straight became the norm sometimes for a month solid. 13 hour days with no breaks seeing clients back to back, being so exhausted that she would get in her car and cry tears of joy that the day was over hoping all this sacrifice and hard work would lead to something more. It was just a matter of when. After 3 years in a salon,
when she thought she was ready, she toured the suites, signed a lease and started her own little salon! She sent out postcards to her guests letting them know where she was going hoping they would come with her (Yikes! Don't judge, This was way before insta!) She put care and detail into her new salon for her guests. Alot of clients followed and a lot didn't. But from that moment on she promised to always put her heart and soul into each guest, because she truly appreciated the ones who support her. After her first suite she would out grow each space, physically and creatively. She liked to change her spaces up to shake up the energy and get inspired again.
Over 7 years, she worked in 6 suites, and one chair rental salon after going out on her own.
She has worked her way up, experiencing, risking and learning as much as she could along the way. Making MANY mistakes, big wins and always planning the "what's next" for my business. 11 years of hard work and sacrifice was all becoming worth it. She finally found the perfect space and signed a lease on her very own salon.
I couldn't do this without you all! @balayageblonde.salon Opening April 2020
