Fear has a powerful way of holding us back, especially when trauma is involved. It makes us believe that if something happened once, it's going to happen again.
In our heads, the fear seems rational, so we end up with the wrong conclusion: the same action will always cause the same reaction.
Sometimes, with some people, yes.
But in most cases, probably not.
(Your discernment and intuition are critical here!)
You won't always be left abandoned, rejected, or left behind — the right people will stay with you and will appreciate you for who you are.
You won't always be disappointed if you trust others – the right ones will never let you down and will help you heal from the ones who did.
You won't always get hurt if you open your heart to new people – the right ones will know how to appreciate your love and to reciprocate in ways that mean the most.
No one can predict the future... but do the work to heal from your past so it's not limiting your future. Fear has it's place, yes. But if you want something, go for it. No matter what happened in the past. This time can be different.
